Urgent Notice to Parishioners & Guests
There has been a suspicious man going to churches within our Diocese and entering the parish offices with or without permission, stating that he is a Priest and is there for an appointment or to meet the church Clergy, or is a friend of the Clergy. He will then ask to use the restroom, then wanders into living areas of rectories and steals money from Priest’s rooms.
This man commonly says his name is “Father Martin” from the Franciscans Religious Order or “Deacon Alejandro Torres”, “Fr, Juan Manuel Flores”, or “Fr. Juan Carlos Garcia Lopez”.
Please be aware that the Clergy and staff of St. Patrick's are aware of this situation. We always take great care in protecting funds graciously donated by our parishioners and ensure deposits are made regularly. We also, of course, take great care in protecting our properties and, most importantly, our parishioners and guests.
I want to take this opportunity to remind you that people regularly try to scam our office and parishioners.
Remember that the Priests assigned to our Parish are Fr. Robert and Fr. Antonio and they will never request funds for themselves. If you receive an email or text message from one of them requesting you send them a gift card, it is not them! Mark that email or text as spam and block them.
I also want to remind you that if a Clergy member of another Diocese anywhere in the world (near or far) wishes to visit our church to speak at a ministry event, preside at a Mass, celebrate Sacraments, fundraise for their Parish, etc., they MUST first be granted faculties within our Diocese from our Bishop. There is a process of permission that takes place between Bishops then the Parish is made aware of whether or not that person is granted faculties. If NOT granted faculties, that person does NOT have permission to act as a Clergy within our Diocese. All of our Ministries are aware of this and must turn in a request and be granted permission prior to their events. A letter handed to you from that Clergy member is NOT valid.
If you become aware of someone doing any of the above and you are unsure if they have permission to be here, please let myself or Fr. Robert know immediately.
We as Christians have very kind hearts, but the last thing I want is for any of you to be taken advantage of in any way. If you see anything that could raise suspicion, please email or call the office.

Aviso Urgente para Feligreses e Invitados
Ha habido un hombre sospechoso que va a las iglesias dentro de nuestra Diócesis y entra en las oficinas parroquiales con o sin permiso, diciendo que es un sacerdote y está allí para una cita o para reunirse con el clero de la iglesia, o es un amigo del clero. Luego pide usar el baño, se pasea por las salas de estar de las rectorías y roba dinero de las habitaciones de los sacerdotes.
Este hombre suele decir que su nombre es "Padre Martin" de la Orden Religiosa Franciscana o "Diacono Alejandro Torres", "Padre Juan Manuel Flores", o "Padre Juan Carlos Garcia Lopez".
Tenga en cuenta que el clero y el personal de San Patricio son conscientes de esta situación. Si usted recibe un correo electrónico o mensaje de texto de uno de ellos pidiéndole que les envíe una tarjeta de regalo, ¡no son ellos! Marque ese correo electrónico o mensaje de texto como spam y bloquéelos.
También quiero recordarles que si un miembro del Clero de otra Diócesis en cualquier parte del mundo (cerca o lejos) desea visitar nuestra iglesia para hablar en un evento del ministerio, presidir una Misa, celebrar Sacramentos, recaudar fondos para su Parroquia, etc., primero DEBEN recibir facultades dentro de nuestra Diócesis de nuestro Obispo. Hay un proceso de permiso que se lleva a cabo entre los Obispos y luego la Parroquia es informada si a esa persona se le conceden o no facultades. Si NO se le conceden facultades, esa persona NO tiene permiso para actuar como Clero dentro de nuestra Diócesis. Todos nuestros Ministerios son conscientes de esto y deben presentar una solicitud y obtener el permiso antes de sus eventos. Una carta que le entregue ese miembro del Clero NO es válida.
Si usted se da cuenta de alguien haciendo algo de lo anterior y no está seguro de si tienen permiso para estar aquí, por favor hágamelo saber a mí o al P. Robert inmediatamente.
Como cristianos tenemos corazones muy bondadosos, pero lo ultimo que quiero es que se aprovechen de alguno de ustedes de cualquier manera. Si ven algo que pueda levantar sospechas, por favor envíen un correo electrónico o llamen a la oficina.
