12. How is my online banking donations different from online giving donations?

Why online banking donations end up as paper checks? The perception that church members have when they donate through their bank's online bill pay service is that their donations will be sent to the church electronically. The reality, however, is that these donations are actually mailed as paper checks. As a result, the church has to manually process and post these donations, just as if the checks were enclosed in a contribution envelope. Though there is usually no issue, there is always a chance that these contributions may be lost in the mail in heavy mail seasons. Be sure to watch your account to ensure your bill pay checks are cashed by the church.
